I was a 2 week patient recently (September 2015). I highly recommend this facility for rehab care. The garden was especially appreciated as it allowed me to go outside and sit in the sun and get fresh air. From the senior administrative staff down to the cleaning staff.... all were courteous and caring. The medical director and his assistant were very professional doctors who inquired about my condition (and attitude) daily.The nursing staff was outstanding and the administrative staff went out of their way to accommodate my special request. As a self employed consultant, they allowed me to continue to use my computer and room as my temporary office so I could conduct business in between rehab sessions. While I am sure this is not the norm, it was an incredible professional gesture on their part. The food in general was above average for hospital fare and the dietitian went out of her way to address my particular dietary concerns. Again, her personalized attention gave me the feeling that my opinions and request received attention. It showed a very caring attitude. As far as the rehab staff goes.....10 thumbs up! The occupational therapy group really worked hard to get me back on the road to recovery and worked on my dexterity, strength and mental aptitude, They were always up beat and encouraging and always had warm personal attitudes and smiles. The physical therapy group were great women who challenged me, encouraged me, and again I felt they genuinely cared about my progress.If it were not for the care of both therapy groups I would not have improved to the point of self reliance. Now I am attending out patient physical therapy 3 times a week and they are challenging me at every visit. Again a very caring and professional staff of men and women. While I hope I never have to go through this again...If I did, this would be the only rehab facility I would choose.
Great place to be. Every staff member was compassionate. The Case Manager, Debra was outstanding! Kudos to Kindred!!!
After two separate visits, my opinion is that this is an outstanding place to go when you need rehab. Both times, I entered from an ambulance and left in my family car. The doctors are approachable and interested in your condition. There is one doctor who works on your general health and another who works on your rehab. The RNs and techs do a great job on your general health needs. The physical therapist give you 90 minutes of good therapy on your lower body. The occupational therapist give you 90 minutes of good therapy on your upper body. They get you where you can walk around with a walker. They get you where you can give yourself a shower and do all your bathroom and grooming stuff. The food is excellent. You essentially join a new family when you attend this hospital. They know you by name and speak when they pass you. The encourage you.
Had a one week stay at Kindred and I must say it was wonderful. I am a nurse so I know good care when I see and experience it and I could not have been more pleased. EVERY department and I mean every including nutrition and custodial care were wonderful. And the OT and PT depts so motivating but kind and adaptable to the mood and pain you might be in but still able to get you to reach your goals. I love everyone there and I would highly recommend.
Food services are not organized, do not seem to be able to follow the recommendations from the doctors orders. Patients wait a long time to be fed. Which seems to be ridiculous to me. Sometimes making them eat and then go straight to another therapy session. Most therapy personnel are very good though.
